Consumnes River Elk Grove Center
The Elk Grove Center, an extension of the Los Rios Community College District’s Cosumnes River College, was completed in 2013 and awarded a Silver LEED certification for sustainability in design. The building is housed on a 13.25 acre site, and was designed to provide the feel of a traditional college campus to Sacramento County’s fast-growing city of Elk Grove.
Royal Electric hired PowerStudies, Inc to perform a Protective Device Coordination and Short Circuit Study for this new 2 story building that would house classrooms, labs and administration offices. The scope of work involved a 2000A Main Switchboard that fed distribution panels, load panels and motors downstream. The devices involved in the system were Cutler-Hammer Thermal Magnetic breakers and Cooper Bay-o-Net fuses.
