American River College Student Center
American River College, along with Cosumnes River College, is part of the Los Rios Community College District. It began operating under its current name in 1955, but its history goes back to 1942, when it was first established as Grant Union Junior College. It currently serves over 38,000 students.
The project consisted of the construction of a 50,000 square foot building that houses a cafeteria, two food/coffee chains, student lounge, and a room for e-services, lounge for international student and a wing of four meeting rooms. PowerStudies, Inc was hired by Diversified Power Corp to perform a Short Circuit and Protective Device Coordination Study for this building. The devices involved in the power system were Square D Thermal Magnetic and Solid State Trip breakers with adjustable Long Time, Short Time and Instantaneous functions.
