The Coachella Valley Water District - Palm Desert Admin Facility

Making every drop count since 1918” is Coachella Valley Water District’s slogan, and in a desert district where the average annual rainfall is a scant 3 inches, they take that slogan very seriously. Formed in 1918 to conserve the district’s precious water resources, the CVWD has expanded into an organization that meets the water needs of over 100,000 households and businesses in Southern California.

The electrical distribution system consisted of a new SCE pad mount service transformer, 4000A main switchboard and a 1000kW diesel generator. The devices used on this project were Cutler-Hammer solid state Digitrip type units with adjustable long time, short time, instantaneous and ground fault features as well as thermal magnetic breakers throughout the system.
