Desert Blue Tower - Wyndham Vacation Ownership
Wyndham Vacation Ownership is one of the world’s largest ownership companies.This project was built on just less than 15 acres in Las Vegas, NV. It has uninterrupted views of the iconic Las Vegas Strip. It consists of a 19-story tower with 281 condominium-style units a 50 penthouse presidential suites.
PowerStudies, Inc was hired to perform the short circuit and protective device coordination studies for this location. The equipment was supplied by Graybar Electric Supply and the electrical contractor performing the electrical installation was Helix Electric. Due to the type of loads being fed in this system, selective coordination was carefully evaluated for elevator and emergency equipment to ensure it was compliant with NEC articles 620, 700 and 701. To achieve the highest level of coordination a combination of electronic trip breakers (with adjustable long time, short time and instantaneous functions), relays and fusing were used as well as thermal magnetic breakers.
